Privacy policy

This policy explains what information the Doctapet app and website (doctapet.ai) collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our iOS and Android apps.

1. Who we are

Doctapet Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 16854157). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

Doctapet provides pet-health services: AI-assisted photo triage, chat and video consultations with veterinary professionals, and pet nutrition delivered on subscription. The app provides wellbeing information and access to veterinary professionals; it is not a substitute for an in-person examination by a vet.

2. Information we collect

Account details: name, email address and password when you create an account.
Pet information: details you add about your pet, and photos or videos you submit for triage or consultations.
Consultation content: messages and media you share with veterinary professionals through the app.
Order details: delivery address and order history. Payments are processed by our payment providers — we do not store your card details.
Device and usage data: device type, app version, crash logs and how the app is used, to keep the service working and improve it.

The app does not collect precise GPS location. Camera, photo library and microphone are used only when you choose to use a feature that needs them, and can be managed in your device settings.

3. How we use information

We use your information to provide and improve the service: running your account and your pet's health record, delivering triage results and consultations, fulfilling orders, sending service messages, keeping the service secure, and improving our AI models. Marketing messages are sent only with your consent and you can opt out at any time.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.

4. Sharing

We share information only where needed to run the service: with the veterinary professionals you consult, and with trusted service providers who support us (such as cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics and delivery), under contracts that limit them to acting on our instructions. We may also disclose information where required by law. Where data is transferred internationally, we use safeguards recognised under UK and EU law.

5. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, and afterwards only as long as we have a legal or legitimate business reason (for example tax and record-keeping requirements). We then delete or anonymise it.

6. Your rights

Under UK and EU data-protection law you can ask us to access, correct, delete or transfer your personal data, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us at privacy@doctapet.com and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account, or by emailing privacy@doctapet.com. This permanently deletes your account, pet profiles and photos, except for records we are legally required to keep.

8. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest and with access controls, and we monitor our systems. If a breach occurs that affects your rights, we will notify you and the ICO as required by law.

9. Changes and contact

If we make material changes to this policy we will notify you in the app and update the date above.
